Hello to all from Rosemary and Suzanne! We are so happy that visiting parents enjoyed the Blue Jays and Cardinals bunk play performance of “Small Crimson Parasol”. The bunk plays are performed by the different groups in camp, and give everyone the chance to try out for parts in a production, even if drama is something they have never done before. The campers who prefer not to be on stage work on the “tech: crew to help make any scenery pieces, costumes, props, etc. We have had “Cinderella” (the new story) done by the Falcons, “Small Crimson Parasol” done by Blue Jays and Cardinals, and an adaptation of Rumplestiltskin: “Homeystiltskin” by the Eagles.
At the end of the first half, the Camp Regis-Apple Jack Drama Department was proud to present the Rogers and Hammerstein’s musical classic, “South Pacific”. This show boasted an extremely talented cast and crew that worked very hard to put on a great show.
Wonderful performances were given by Lauren Cohen as Nellie, Adam Heartstone-Rose as Emile, Alexander Pearlman as Cable, and Hannah Weiss as Bloody Mary. Also doing teriffic jobs were Sara Brockman as Liat, Sam Soghor as Brackett, and last but not least, expert clip board holder Charles Miele as Billis. Highlights included the musical number “Honey Bun”, Sam Soghor’s “older men are better for women than younger men” speech, and the many, though sometimes fake, kissing scenes. We hope everyone enjoyed the show!
