We are really excited to announce our partnership with the American Camp Association to create a scholarship fund for Camp Regis Applejack (CRAJ). For 75 years we at Camp Regis Applejack have strived to bring in children from all backgrounds to experience camping. When Pauline and Earl Humes founded the camp after WWII they recognized the importance for campers to learn the values of diversity, acceptance, kindness, and teamwork. In order for those values to be real and meaningful, the camp needed campers from all backgrounds. This idea is just as important now as it was then. We are living in a polarized, media oversaturated, misinformation bombarded time. It is absolutely vital that kids learn to understand those who don’t look, sound, or think exactly as they do are still people and deserving of respect and acceptance.
Working with the American Camping Association to create this Scholarship Program is ensuring that we can continue to provide CRAJ to all future generations, no matter their background.
How it works:
We are asking our friends, former campers and staff, and any camping enthusiasts to donate towards this scholarship fund. The donations are tax-deductible and will be held in a separate account specifically for application towards discounted tuition.
You can make your donation online or via check. Follow the link below to donate now.
