Camp Regis Applejack is excited to announce the appointment of Emily Yancey Humes as their Associate Director. Miss. Yancey Humes is posed to be the third generation of Humes to own and run the children’s summer camp. The camp was founded in 1945 by Earl and Pauline Humes and was one of the first non-denominational institutions, it has since been run by their son Michael Humes.
“I am so excited to have Emily on board. This means that our camp, that we all love so very much, will be able to continue into the future as a family run business. It’s what I have been hoping for a long time.” says Michael Humes, the current owner of Camp Regis Applejack.
Miss. Yancey Humes will be joining on with the current Camp Director Will Bettmann and Owner Michael Humes for the 2020 summer season. Mr. Bettmann has been the Director of Camp Regis Applejack for the past year and is a past alumnus of the camp.
Miss. Yancey Humes has previously worked as a Sales and Marketing Administrator, Admissions Officer, and Art Teacher throughout the country. She has a background in the Arts, graduating from Alfred University with a BFA and minor in Art Education.
Camp Regis Applejack is a co-ed sleepaway summer camp in Paul Smiths, NY. Camp Regis Applejack has been in operation since 1945 where it was one of the first non-denominational summer camps in the United States. The Camp continues it’s values of acceptance and respect for the earth by continuing its traditional camp activities while integrating new sustainable programs.
