Our trip started on Monday, the 8th of August at 10:00 a.m. We had had trouble with Glenn’s Ranchero, but we fixed the tire or should I say the spare and a front tire. Once we just gotten ready to leave everybody realized that Andy Wagner was missing. No big surprise, but what can you expect. We finally got everyone and started. It was sort of weird if you think about it. We had come to think of camp as our second home and here all of a sudden we’re leaving for Cape Cod. We drove to the Ferry at Lake Champlain. Boarded the Ferry at 11:35. Un-boarded at 11:43, like you really care, but that is beside the point. We got to Cape Cod at 10:40. Drive to a camp ground called “Cape Cod Sea Camp”. Tuesday we woke up at 9:20 and went for a swim to wake up. After breakfast we went to Marconi Beach to go swimming and fool around on the sand dunes. Of course, Todd did his usual flips and summer saults on the dunes. Thursday was the most fun. We woke up at 8:00 to catch the NANTUCKET Ferry! When we arrived at the dock of Nantucket, George gave a big GROWL so everyone would move. After everybody moved, George came tromping out the main exit and over to the bicycles. We took the bicycles to the beach and stayed all afternoon. Friday we woke up at 6:00, this time to go fishing. Rad had caught one of the biggest fish and shared first prize. That night we went to a Howard Johnson’s for the night. It had a pool, color TV, and air conditioning, and nice warm beds and showers. The next morning we woke up at 8:00 a.m. and ate breakfast. Arrived in camp at 7:30 p.m. Home sweet home.
