This December 2020 we are excited to announce and feature our new CRAJ Scholarship Program that is going to help us support our large amount of campers on full or partial scholarships and give the experience of summer camp to even more children. This Holiday Season we are grateful for our CRAJ Family, past, present, and future, for all your love, support, and dedication to keeping kids outside and having fun away from their screens.
This November 2020 we have an exciting announcement that the third generation of Camp Regis Applejack leadership has joined the administrative team. Michael Humes’ daughter, Emily Yancey, is coming on board as the Associate Camp Director. She comes from an art and education background but is excited to get back to her roots at Camp. We at CRAJ wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
This summer, the campers’ already ambitious schedule of activities has been expanded to include gymnastics, photography, and music. Over the course of the season, every camper will be evaluated by gymnastics coach Mary Heit. “I think gymnastics is a fun way to develop agility and coordination; confidence and competence. At a commemoration held on Friday, July 16th, Camp Director Michael Humes dedicated the new pavilion to his father, Earl B. Humes, who founded Camp Regis with his wife Pauline in 1946. The dedication to Earl Humes – who died in 1982 – was a surprise from Michael to his mother.
