Happy Thanksgiving!!
We at Camp Regis Applejack wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful for our amazing group of past, present, and future campers and staff who make the camp truly special. You are the stuffing and sides to our turkey dinner, and the meal would not be anything without you.
Staff Spotlight – CRAJ Alumnus, Sherri Sturgis
CRAJ: First of all, what years did you attend camp?
Sherri: I think I started in 1981 or 1982 and was there for the next years or so, including as staff in my final year.
CRAJ: What are a couple of your fondest memories as a camper?
Sherri: Well… I loved the waterfront and the Olympics. I remember an event where we wrestled a greased watermelon in the shallow area of the lake. I dabbled in a lot of things at camp and I feel like those experiences helped me be a well-rounded adult-like the art, the theatre, the waterfront, all the songs. I lived in South Florida at the time I was a camper and there were so many experiences I would not otherwise have been a part of.
CRAJ: What are a couple of highlights from this summer for you?
Sherri: I loved the canoe trip. I was worried that I wouldn’t remember how to paddle, but it came back immediately like riding a bike. I also really liked the Tuesday night outdoor concerts in Lake Placid. It was a nice change of pace.
CRAJ Scholarship Fund
We are excited to announce the arrival of the CRAJ Scholarship Program. For 75 years we at Camp Regis Applejack have strived to bring in children from all backgrounds to experience camping. We are a firm believer in having no child left behind, and now we have a more sustainable way to ensure that. We are working with the American Camping Association to create this Scholarship Program to make sure that we can continue to provide CRAJ to all future generations, no matter their background.
